Join FCS’ Board of Directors

Farmers for Climate Solutions (FCS) is seeking farmers, ranchers, and others in the agriculture sector to serve as members on its Board of Directors.

FCS is a national organization led by farmers and ranchers invested in the future of farming in Canada. We advance practical tools and supports that help build resilience and stewardship on farms and ranches.

We run Canada’s widest-reaching field program advancing stewardship and resilience in agriculture, now having worked with over 26,000 farmer and rancher event participants across all provinces.

We also amplify farmer and rancher voices in national policy, and our recommendations have led to over $1 billion in new investments and broader policy improvements.

As a registered charity in Canada, FCS is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that oversees FCS’ strategic direction. The majority of our board are farmers and ranchers, and are composed of individuals committed to our vision of every acre of agricultural land in Canada producing great food, cleaner air and water, and greater biodiversity—profitably. The board meets once a month, with some preparatory work and email communication between meetings, for a total commitment of approximately three hours per month. Board members have the opportunity to serve on external committees and become involved in other aspects of FCS’ work if they have the time and desire to do so. Meetings are virtual, but the board meets in person approximately once every two years.

If you are committed to a more resilient and prosperous agricultural future, we invite you to apply to join the FCS board. We also encourage people who belong to an equity-deserving group to apply, and to self-identify in your application if you wish.

Please submit a resume and brief cover letter that explains your motivations and experience to program@farmersforclimatesolutions.ca. We are looking to fill up to two seats on our board.

The deadline for applications is March 1, 2026. Short-listed candidates will be invited to an online interview.
